Matsumura no Passai Kata is the original form of Bassai, a powerful form that is often practised today in its various incarnations - Bassai Dai, Bassai Sho and Tomari no Bassai to name but a few of the most commonly performed versions. The course will cover the Matsumura form itself as well as comparisons to the more modern forms of the kata and their the combative applications. We will delve into the kata's strikes, vital points, grappling and floor techniques, throws and joint locks, weapon counters. This workshop is open to all styles and is perfect for Karate, Kenpo, Kung fu and Taekwondo.
