Congratulations to Our Newest Dan Grade!

On Sunday 4th September, the MKKA welcomed its newest Dan Grade and the first of the new system.

Presided over by Senior Master Ted Clare and Sifu Howard Ward-Dutton, Richard Sandbach was awarded his 1st Dan Black Belt after a exhausting grading in which he demonstrated his proficiency of Tenchi-Ryu Modern Kenpo Karate's syllabus. After five years of continuous hard work, Rich was able to overcome a particularly ill-timed injury suffered a mere two months before the grading. With care, resolve and the support of his brothers, he was able to recover and ultimately succeed at this difficult test of physical and mental fortitude.

We would like to recognise this achievement as a significant milestone for both Rich personally and for the school as a whole. We extend our gratitude to Sifu Howard Ward-Dutton for sitting on the grading panel - it was an honour to have a martial artist of such high esteem to preside over this landmark grading. Our heartfelt thanks to those who supported Rich in his training and on the day of the grading and know that you have his undying gratitude and continued support in your own training.

We are all very proud of what has transpired and look forward to life after this auspicious event.
